Save time and hassle by booking online

I have had several enquiries regarding arrival day/time for exhibitors and traders. We are happy to welcome anyone after midday on Friday as by then we will all have a good idea of the layout and where to put you. Should you need to arrive earlier please contact me on 07751 918283 or Eric Gay, who will ensure that we have a place for you.

Should you just turn up you will, of course, be welcome but might find you have a long and frustrating wait while we find somewhere for you.

The 2024 Wessex Midsummer Vintage Show will be going ahead at Greenhill, Bradley Road, Southwick, Wilts on the 15th and 16th June 2024. Entry forms are now available from the club website using the downloads link above. Planning is well under way and we aim to make this the best one ever!

Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who have joined the team to help with planning next year's show. Further news will be added as things become clearer.

Trade entries for the 2024 show have started to come in, with the first booked being something for the kids, Beaming Faces face painting and body art. More will be added as and when...

We are happy to say that Kelly's Donkeys will be coming along to the show, I'm sure the kids will love these wonderful animals.

We would welcome offers of help for any of our events, either in planning or on the day. It can be real fun to enjoy the show "from the inside". Anyone wishing to become involved should contact one of our team or secretary@wessexsec.org

BRADFORD ON AVON VINTAGE GATHERING

2024

Following the success of the Bradford Leigh Show we are hoping to repeat it in 2024, but we will be very dependant on volunteers, as organising one show in the year is a lot of effort, so having a second one will be very taxing. Please get in touch if you would like to join in the fun.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MIDSUMMER VINTAGE SHOW

The show started in 1977 when a small group from the newly-formed Wessex Stationary Engine Club held a rally at Kilmersdon Hill. In the following years WSEC exhibited at the Camerton Rally, held rallies at Longleat, including the first 1000 Engine Rally, underground at Monkton Farleigh, and Cheddar football ground, where they stayed until 1991. By then it was becoming difficult to fit everything in the football ground whilst observing their requirements, so it was very fortunate that a larger field became available just outside Semington. Apart from weather problems and the current pandemic the show was held there until our last show in 2018. After being rained off in 2019 and cancelled due to Covid in 2020 and 2021 we are now planning our latest show at the White Horse Country Park, still organised by a small but enthusiastic group of volunteers.
